Tendeka Matatu, the producer of Jerusalema will be introducing his film on Sunday evening.
Tendeka Matatu started his film career as an assistant director, working on numerous feature films and TV series' in Zimbabwe and London.Tendeka produced several feature films, in South Africa, including, the multi award winning "Max & Mona" by Teddy Mattera, the box office hit, "Straight Outta Benoni", "Footskating 101" and most recently the gangster epic "Jerusalema", directed by Ralph Ziman, which premiered at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival.

Seminar with June Givanni
June Givanni has worked in film and broadcasting for many years. She worked at the British Film Institute for 8 years where she ran the African Caribbean Unit from the mid 1980s to the mid-1990s and launched the quarterly Black Film Bulletin. She set up and managed the ‘Screen Griots’ programme of 14 film-related projects in London in 1995, to complement the Africa ’95 nationwide African arts and culture festival. She is also the editor of the book Symbolic Narratives/African Cinema.

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Galway African Film Festival

Timed roughly to correlate with Africa Day, The Galway African Film Festival showcases some of the talent that exists within the African film industry. Thanks to Irish Aid's generous sponsorship, this year's events, as last year's, will be avalailable to the public free of charge on Sunday, 31 May, at the Galway Town Hall Theatre.
